We are delighted to inform you that from 1 August 2025 Morecambe Bay Primary Care Collaborative is now providing the GP service in Coniston Medical Practice. The contract will be for 6 months.

We intend to provide the service of a GP from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and will have a morning session and afternoon session for patients to be seen in the practice. We will have a manager and admin team in place to support appointment booking and patient support. We will also be providing home visits to our temporarily or permanently housebound patients.

The practice will also have other clinical support from a visiting Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistant and we will also be continuing to provide the scheduled Mental Health Nurse support who already delivers services to the practice. Appointments will be made as required on clinicians' practice days.

The practice will not be providing a medication dispensary service. We are partnering with Colins and Butterworth pharmacy, Main Street, Hawkshead 01539 436201 for our Coniston patients. Prescriptions will be sent to the pharmacy for processing. The pharmacy will deliver to housebound patients who have no family support to collect prescriptions. Mobile patients who can drive, use public transport or have family who can collect prescriptions will be required to collect the prescriptions from the pharmacy. Patients outside of the Coniston area will be required to select and choose a local pharmacy of choice to have prescriptions sent to electronically. We strongly advise patients to keep at least 1 week supply of repeat medications in stock.
